The Objectives and Breeding Philosophy of Seven Oaks Arabian Stud are clear and simple. They are:
- To breed Straight Egyptian horses based on the bloodlines and breeding philosophy of Dr. Hans Nagel’s
Katharinenhof Stud in Germany. This philosophy is not to improve the breed, but to “re-create” the breed back to its original classic type and extreme beauty which evolved over centuries in the Nejd region of Saudi Arabia. - To breed Pure Crabbet horses, based on the sound basis created originally by Fenwick Stud, and then
developed by Ron Ryan's Arfaja Stud, and to line breed to “re-create” the classic type and beauty of such early Crabbet horses as Skowronek, his sons Naziri and Naseem, and Naseem’s daughter Silver Fire. - To breed outstanding and beautiful riding horses, by using Pure Crabbet and Straight Egyptian stallions
over Crabbet Related mares carrying the bloodlines based on the brilliant movement of the Ralvon Stud and River Oak Arabian Stud bloodlines. In breeding each of the above different types of Arabian horse, the over-riding criteria of Seven Oaks Arabian Stud will be: TYPE and TEMPERAMENT Correct conformation is important, but our primary focus will be on striving to breed horses with unmistakable Arabian type, being a small, wedge shaped and dished head, with large, dark and round eyes, high set tail carried proudly like a flag, and brilliant movement. Equally important to us is that these horses must be proud yet gentle, capable of exuberant excitement, yet still docile, well behaved and obedient, and definitely, people loving, intelligent and affectionate animals. THE SEVEN COVENANTS OF SEVEN OAKS ARABIAN STUD 1. To strive to breed horses with unmistakable Arabian type, outstanding temperament, good conformation and brilliant action. 2. To place a high premium on the qualities that make an outstanding riding horse. 3. To preserve the heritage of Pure Crabbet bloodlines (being the fountainhead of all modern Arabians), to seperately preserve a particular Straight Egyptian bloodline, and to use crosses of these two outstanding bloodlines over Crabbet Related mares, where appropriate. 4. To present well handled, well mannered, friendly and balanced horses for sale. 5. To provide an honest assessment of our horses conformation, type and temperament. 6. To provide value for money, and 7. To assist purchasers in any way that we can. |
